Kayak Tours on Outer Banks NOT Affected by Wildfires!

May 27th, 2011

Our kayak tours here on the Outer Banks have been a little smoky to no smoke at all. Even our tours of the Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge (where the fire is located) have been fine. It all depends on which way the wind is blowing from. You may experience

Sunset at Pea Island

some smoke on the tour if the winds are blowing out of the south or southeast. Our other tours on the beach (Pea Island to Pine Island) have also experienced little effects from the fire depending on the direction of the wind. If you have any questions on the fire and how it may influence your tour, give me a call or email, but I think you will find the air quality on the tours to be fine.

Outer Banks Kayak Tour, Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge

May 20th, 2011

What an awesome tour we had today at the Alligator River NWR. We saw alligators, black bear, and heard the red wolves howling at sunset. We also heard the alligator mating call from a distance, this freaked some of our guests out at first.

Spring is here!

March 12th, 2010

Some good weather at last. Took out a small group kayaking yesterday to the Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge. It was an awesome day for the first tour of the new season. Saw one alligator and a bald eagle. We had to climb over a few downed trees which added a little excitement to the tour. The winter was long, cold, rainy and windy, thus the fallen trees we had to work around.

Can’t wait to get on the water again. Joe
